Who I am

I’m Minal Hajratwala, and my website address is: https://minalhajratwala.com.

What personal data this site collects and why

Contact forms

When you contact me through the Contact page, the website collects the data shown in the form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

When you sign up for my mailing list or for a free offer, the website collects the data shown in the form and exports it to my mailing list software, along with the date you joined. It does not collect your IP address or other data.

Comments

When you leave a comment on the blog, the website collects the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. The spam detector is an external plugin so your browser data may get sent to a separate server to check it before your comment is accepted.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies held by WordPress, which is the platform on which my site is built. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. You do not have to opt-in to this choice.

Analytics

Data sharing

Other than the tools used for my own data management mentioned above, I don’t share your data with anyone, for any reason.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, this website keeps your comment and its metadata indefinitely.

If you sign up for my mailing list, my mailing list software keeps your contact information indefinitely. You can opt out at anytime by using the “unsubscribe” button on any mailing.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on my blog, you can request that I erase your comment, and I will delete it immediately. Technically you can also request to receive an exported file of the personal data that the website has held hold about you, though, honestly, I have no idea how to do this…

Thanks for reading! Safe surfing.
